Cute bookshelf, but design needs improvement. Overall, this bookcase was easy to build. Price was decent for the size I needed, and it’s a very pretty color. I need to remove one star though, due to the back of the bookshelf being so poorly designed. It comes with 3 (taped) slabs that you’re required to nail into the back of the bookcase frame. Instructions require a mallet to hammer the nails through the board. If it was true solid wood, I wouldn’t mind doing so but the material isn’t solid wood. It’s quite fragile overall, and I’m very worried it’ll split or cause damage. It does not have holes, so you’re required to hammer through the material in hopes of aligning it correctly or making it cleanly through. I’ve decided to keep the back off, which is okay for me because I have a large open back bookcase on the other wall. It’s just a weird design and definitely needs to be fixed.
