Death Did Us Part is about the struggles of dealing with not being accepted for who you are, while dealing with a loss. The main character Dejay is dealing with the loss of her older brother Aj, whom she was extremely close with. Before the death of her brother Dejay spent her life “in the closet”. Once AJ was murdered Dejay cut her hair and decided to openly live as a dominate lesbian. Throughout the film we witness the none acceptance from Dejay’s mother Diane.
