Description Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy Print Signed By Storm Thorgerson And Tony Iommi Black Sabbath Technical Ecstasy Print Signed By Storm Thorgerson And Tony Iommi. Technical Ecstasy marked a shift for Black Sabbath, moving away from their signature doom and darkness to a more experimental rock sound. The album explored gritty themes like drug dealers and prostitution, with tracks such as “Rock ‘n’ Roll Doctor” and “It’s Alright” (sung by drummer Bill Ward) standing out for their different style. Keyboards and synthesisers featured more prominently, and “She’s Gone” included orchestration. After this album, Ozzy Osbourne briefly left but returned for Never Say Die!. The iconic cover art, designed by Hipgnosis, shows two robots having sex—Ozzy once called it “two robots screwing on an escalator”. The UK release included a two-sided lyric/credit insert. Songs like “Gipsy”, “Dirty Women”, and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Doctor” were performed live on tour, and “It’s Alright” was famously covered by Guns N’ Roses. The album was certified Gold in 1997 and peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Pop Album chart. The print is signed by legendary artist and designer Storm Thorgerson — co-founder of Hipgnosis—and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi.
